About time. My i3 is screaming to be relegated to 24/7 crunching, and i'm itching for a new upgrade.

Either that or they will heavily minimize their desktop chip productions and focus mainly on the mobile and graphic industries. I for sure hope not, as I always use AMD for budget family builds but unfortunately if you can't keep up you can only fall so far behind before you become irrelevant.

That purchase of ATI by AMD is looking better and better every day.

Curious to see how much longer ultrabooks would last now. Didn't they say something like 10 hours or more for battery life?

Maybe a lot of people are converting to OEM purchases (building their own computer) rather than buying a fully precompiled build from stores/websites.
But there is no doubt that mobile computing is moving forward in the tablet/smartphone world.

you don't seriously believe that do you?

Why isn't this going into the Surface Pro that comes out in March?

Obviously because Haswell isn't set to be released in March, and the tablets have to be designed and produced between now and March.

Ivy actually puts out less heat then sandy. The problem is the thermal paste under the lid.

The thermal paste is actually really good. It's the way the IHS was put on for some batches. The distance between the IHS and the die is greater sometimes.

Is this fixed with current batches ?

I don't know whether to gamble on IB or just wait for Haswell.
