forget the core clock, my card runs 1200mhz core stock and i can overclock it to around 1250mhz, and the difference: barely 1 fps

Memory overclock on the other hand, all for this, get the memory from 6 to 7ghz and you'll notice difference, the GTX600+ series seem to like memory overclocks a lot, whereas with core clocks unless you can reach 1400mhz (wich is really damn rare and not fantastic for the gpu itself) you wont notice difference. (unless ofcourse you like to benchmark all day and be a total show-off to your friends.)

anyway: Welcome to the GTX670 club, believe me you will enjoy the hell out of this little tiny beast card.

Whether the core or the memory OC makes more difference very much depends on the particular test you're running to do the comparisons with. For example, on the Heaven bench at the settings we all use to compare with, the memory OC shows better scaling than core OC on Kepler. On 3dMark11 though, it's the opposite ... memory OC does very little compared to a core OC.

I can run 3dMark11 at 1398MHz max boost on the core (with a 1.121V bios) and that takes me from a stock GPU score (where my max boost is 1187) of around 9600 all the way up to nearly 11K score, without even touching the vram clock. This works out to around 85% OC scaling on the core alone. Nothing to sneeze at if you ask me wink.gif

Also keep in mind that what you're describing is comparing the effect of a 16.67% memory OC to the effect of a 4.16% core OC ... of course the memory OC is going to have a greater effect in that case ... it's 4x as large of an overclock thumb.gif

Ok guys got my card in..

The cards boost goes to 1163 / 3005. It idles between 27-30c and playing Borderlands 2 with everything max including physx on high my temps stayed under 53c. I'll try benching it afterwhile to see where the temps go.

Brettjv mentioned a power slider bar.. are you referring to the core slider in afterburner?

The power slider is the Power Limit, or Power Target (can't remember the exact name) slider. In Afterburner it is on the settings page. The core and memory sliders control the overclock.
