7800GTX 512 SLI w/ NV78

Thread Starter
Here is the dea l, while I currently have a 7800GTX with a Maze 4 GPU and copper ramsinks I have been recently proposed a deal which I find quite tempting.

2xAsus 7800GTX 512 in Sli both with the NV78 1/2" water blocks for a total of $450 out the door.
While the 8800GTX have come out I was thinking those 2 suckers still pack a good punch and I run 2 LCD monitors at highest res.

So basically I could sell my 7800GTX with the Maze 4 and a PCI fan (combo that kept my GPU at 37C idle and 42C load even on oblivion) for a little over $200 and pay the difference to get the SLI pair?

What do you guys think I should do?

PS I will be getting a dual core CPU (940?) to keep up

7800GTX 512mb may be worth 250 (going by the last one to sell on ebay NIB) but for 25 bucks more you could get this.

New 7800 GTX is an expensive card but selling it used my be a problem unless you can give the buyer some kind of warranty!

I agree with TDA here in that, while the two 7800gtx's are expensive cards that perform extremely well, The GTS will be about as fast as they are in DX9, and it is also quite future proof. No doubt $450 for 512mb 7800gtx's with water block is dirt cheap, but that GTS is fast, and new tech that won't be outdated anytime through 2007. I would say if you are going to spend $450 on that deal, you should go for a 8800GTS, you can find them on Monarch Computer Systems for $456 shipped (as of three days ago, think it still has that deal).
