Very loud noise on startup after PC is off for a long time. - Page 2

Only you can hear it. Try fans on either one... unplug each fan till you stop hearing it. Or unplug one at a time, plug it back in, etc.

Will be ok? I dont want to waste much money on cooling cpu.

Did you narrow down which fan it is?

take the side panel off your computer then start it up, you will be able to tell exactly where the noise is coming from. Fans in the box are super cheap and easy to replace.

the gpu fan takes more $$$ and more talent to replace...

Also the CPU fan can be replaced without changing the cooler...

pay attention to what you are being told or you will spend alot of $$$ and have a broken computer in the end.

If you cannot describe which fan it is, maybe a picture would help. Eventually the sound may stop, and that means the fan is dead, or stuck (because of a seized bearing) which is not good.

Basically when I boot up I can hear a strange noise. Sounds like a fan losing power or slowing down. When I get into Win 7 Its quiet and normal. The noise is gone.

This only seems to happen if the pc is left off for quite long and I boot it up in the mornings etc.

Any idea what this could be?

PROBABLY A FAN, YOU WOULD NEED TO REMOVE THE CASE PANEL, PUT YOUR EAR UP TO INSIDES OF THE COMPUTER AND TRY TO DETERMINE FROM WHAT DIRECTION OR AREA THE NOISE IS ORIGINATING FROM!!!!
