Does Lucid MVP actually work? All I've heard is that performance gains are negligible on 99% of games, and it's a total pain in the ass to get stable biggrin.gif

Intel also seems to be trying to counter with its own version, although their roadmap has said nothing about complete CPU and iGPU integration like AMD is doing. Coding for a HSA-enabled unit should not be significantly different, if any different, from current coding for CPU only. All it might require is installation of some patches to help the APU recognize the fastest way to process a thread.

My point was concerning current technologies that are somewhat useful (Read: widely used) now. Obviously if they want to include iGPUs on the high end chips in a few years when there's a point to them, good for them. Currently I think they're a waste of space on i7s.

All I can say at this point is, AMD has a card up their sleeve with their efforts into Hybrid Crossfire.

This i9s evident from theFM2 motherboards which give you a 50% performance boost graphically when you add a discreet gpu into the pci express slot . This is essentially a hybrid solution. This hybrid performance brings this solution up to state of the art levels in my opinion.

They mention taking their FX-8350 to 4.6Ghz without any efforts.
Now if 5Ghz is possible with a CM212, I'm taking this toy for myself. Can atleast enjoy the big number, but not sure how the games who see only two cores will perform rolleyes.gif

With next gen consoles loomining, I expect less and less single or dual core threaded only games.

And even if early benchmarks are accurate, PD has no issue on any of those games as is.
