Wouldn't the K-boost feature help increase stability in games? Keeping a constant max speed and voltage imo should allow for a more steady performance from videocards, especially when using stuff like Adaptive-Vsync, where your clock speeds kick in and out when you go beyond 60fps or below...

Maybe in theory, but at least on my card the boost clock never changes in games anyway.

I can see some benefit in Jacob's comment about downclocking in older games - I remember hearing about some instances where the card wouldn't clock up, but other than that doesn't seem terribly useful. More options are good though, and it doesn't hurt anything, so good on them I guess.

my clocks move a lot in borderlands 2... for many different reasons... one of them being that I use adaptive v-sync and that I have 2x gtx 670 in SLI... which means a bit less GPU usage... so clocks move more...

I'll try the K-goost feature in combination with the batch files to force constant mode and back down to lower clocks when in 2-D browsing and stuff...

will let u guys know if I notice a better performance in borderlands 2 wink.gif

Why can't I view my GPU usage?

Just updated Precision X and i get 0% usage 24/7....but its obviously not. Just played BF3.

Version 3.0.4

Updated “Adjust Voltage” section – Includes new feature:

*EVGA K-Boost – This feature will allow you to “lock” GTX 600 series cards to Boost Clock/Voltage, even in 2D mode. Some important notes about this new feature:

* If using SLI, please disable SLI prior to enabling this feature, you can re-enable SLI once system is rebooted.
* Please disable EVGA K-Boost before reinstalling, or uninstalling the NVIDIA driver.
* GPU Utilization will show as 0% when this is enabled.

From the release notes.

How do you go about doing this?

Yea not really, it is only for those who want to lock the clock to full performance mode.

I did a fresh win7 install and is currently using this latest beta driver 310.61 along with Precison X 3.0.4

I've noticed the same core offset that I had in Precision 3.0.3 and 301.42 WHQL driver are now about 9MHz lower for max boost frequency shown in the new OSD. I have to increase it by 5MHz to see any improvement and the boost frequency jumps up by 13MHz. I also recall seeing memory in the 7000's...but the value shows 3000's in the OSD.

My fan curve in Precision X 3.0.4 also seems to be broken...auto works fine though. I've tried Heaven 3.0 and Max Payne and it seems to stay at 54% fan speed while the temp keeps climbing.Tried to check/uncheck 'force fanspeed update on each period' under Precision settings...no luck

Any ideas?

and is there a way to save the settings to a file (OSD/LCD monitors/fan curve) so I don't have to readjust it everytime I reinstall it?
