Ehhh 50% of 4 is 2. 4+2=6. So that means the 6 core processor has 50% more cores than the 4 core processor.

There's always a chance. And even if you succeed you don't have any warranty left.

Warranty on a cpu is meh if u run it and it works fine.. the chances of it failing and needing warranty work are like .00001%

Beauty about is is you can buy 2 3770ks and 3 3570ks almost for the price of 1 3930k

The Benefits from more then 4 cores is un needed by 99.7% of the computing world..

How many 3930k / 3960x owners you think actually take advantage of the extra 2 cores and 4 threads?? I bet most of them are setting in steam gaming lol.

It is all E - Peen and the * it cost more so it is the best and i got to have it people then anything. *

What will it do more for me? I already got it to 4.6Ghz @ 82C @ 1.35v. I dont thing 4.8Ghz is possible with this CPU unless 1.45v+

Depends how big your balls are when it comes to putting the volts into the cpu overclock. Ive seen quite a few people who have killed sandy bridge cpus and needed to use the warranty.

Also your only gonna be using one cpu at a time? What difference does being able to buy 2 3770ks make against only affording one 3930k?

IMO, If I wanted to push my cpu, I would go get the Intel tuning plan over delidding. That way you can push your cpu while having a back up. I have read enough threads about people messing up the process to turn me off of doing it.

Up to 1.55v is fine if you get 4.6ghz with 1.35 4.8ghz should be easy with 1.45ish with temps in the 70c range.

Ah seen u have a loop so i would say 60c range for you.

It was saying if you de lid a 3770k and mess it up you can still buy another for the same price as a 3930k.

But doing it how i did i do not see how anybody can mess it up my hands are far from steady ..

when you get the blade in the glue just put pressure up towards the IHS away from the PCB..

Do all 4 corners like this then with a swivel motion do the middles of each side.

Seems like pretty stupid reasoning...if you have the money for a 3930k buy one, if you dont buy a single 3770k and dont de lid it if your scared of killing it.

Also on the topic of killing cpus whilst attempting to delid:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1291251/golden-chip-award-3770k/10 (OP killed two cpu's prior to getting that one)
http://www.overclock.net/t/1309536/did-i-kill-my-3770k-trying-to-delid-it (OP came very very close to killing this one)

3770k vs 3930 Please look at gaming and video editing results. 3770k beats the 3930k in both aspects.
With the money you save you can buy a Gtx 670.

Guy with the Highest overclocked 3930k in the 5ghz club confirms gaming and Video creation / Editing goes to the 3770k over the 3930k
/ Thread

The problem with Anandtech, is they never use the same hardware or have the same environment. So all their benchmark comparison graphs are off. At least that's why I find their benchmarks to be so inconsistent.
