Thread Starter
Hello i want to start making Youtube Reviews but i have no knowledge about cameras or editing software. Money is tight so i would like to spend the least amount as possible for the carma this does not include the software. So my question is what is a good carma to use for my Amateur reviewing. I have a galaxy S3 could i use that? And what is a good Editing software?

You spelled Amateur wrong.

Use any camera that takes good quality, use a dedicated mic, like the Blue Snowball or Yeti and Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 12.

have you tried making a video with your S3 ?
work with what you got
make sure there is lots of light, the light has to be facing the same direction as the camera. don't record videos in front of a window instead use the window as your light. if the camera is facing the light you wont get a good video.

put a piece of foam on your S3 mic to work as a Pop filter.
make a custom stand for your S3 so you don't get shaky footage.
light is your friend.

any editing program will do. if you want 720p HD see if the program can do that and if you want 1080p HD same thing check with the program.
but all programs have HD rendering so don't worry just make sure your PC can handle it or it will take forever to render a 5 minute video to HD.

don't mess up too much so the editing can be just cut and color correction if needed.
practice before recording maybe make a script so you can sound smart and know what your talking about.

Thanks i made a custom stand I'll post a picture if you like. What do you think about getting a cheap mic like this http://www.amazon.com/Neewer-3-5mm-Hands-Computer-Microphone/dp/B005DJOIHE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1350505450&sr=8-4&keywords=3.5mm+microphone to start with. I made a few videos before and my biggest problem was the script and the videos being 20 mins long. I have alot of old never posted videos because the time and just the poor quality.

I agree with SuperDeo, but I siggest getting a dedicated mic and recording with Audacity. Blue Snowball is around 60-70 dollars and will give EXCELLENT quality for a USB mic. I highly recommend you try it out. That's what I'm trying to buy.

Nice that you made a stand already.
the S3 should take some good quality videos.

i do not know how good that mic is the reviews on it say its ok maybe give it a shot.

hmm 20mins is kinda short you can try getting into a more detailed review,
people watch reviews to see more than what the pictures already show and to see the quality and if its worth buying and to see if there's more to it than the specs listed.

(edit) have you tried seeing if a headset will work didn't your S3 come with a headset ? some headsets have a great mic on them.

If that mic works with the camera then it would be much better than the onboard mic.

Many people dont think about it, but audio is probably more important than video quality. or at least as important.

Getting the mic as close to the source as possible is the goal, so that mic you listed should be good enough (for voice) even though its cheap.

For video, the best thing you could do is learn how to light the subject. Proper lighting will go a long way to good video even with a crappy (within reason) camera.

Edit:
Also, I noticed someone said 20 minutes was too short. I dissagree. Its probably too long unless there is a lot of info. While you want to get more info than pictures or specs list, you dont want to bore them either. If you have that much info, I would suggest splitting it into different video based on general subjects.

Edit 2:
Another option is go on craigslist and make a friend. If its anything like south florida there are TONS of people giving away free amateur video services because they want footage for their portfolio. All it will cost you is time to find one who makes videos you like.

Yeah someone was complaining about a 20 min review on a power supply. I will try using the mic on the head set and i'll tell you the outcome.
