How do I remove all startup programs in windows 7?

I'm using a laptop for studying at the moment and it's a really cheap and slow laptop but it gets the job done but when every I boot thee system it takes like 5 minutes until all startup programs (hotmail, torrent, spotify, Norton Security, etc...) which is really annoying so how can I make it so that when I log into the desktop it doesn't run any programs?

type msconfig in search program (start>search program) and system config should pop up . . .

go to Startup and uncheck unwanted programs, then reboot.

NOTE: some programs are necessary like anti-virus.

EDIT: Norton? just use MSE. i would uninstall norton. 2cents.gif

If you have CCleaner installed (great program btw), you can also manage your start-up programs under "tools".

+1 on CCleaner. I've been using it for years and it's awesome.

Or just do it the normal way and go into the settings for each program that has the option and uncheck start with windows? :l

It's the first thing I do when I install utorrent, spotify etc smile.gif

Definitely get rid of Norton. Search for Black Viper's guide to services, also. There's more than likely a number of services you can stop and/or disable. DON'T try disabling them through msconfig, it won't work. CCLeaner will also show startup programs that may NOT show up in msconfig. Defrag, defrag, defrag........a BIG cause of slow startup times.
