How far to overclock my 3770k safely with push/pull hyper 212 evo?

Thread Starter
I've been sitting at 4.0ghz OC with 1.0v and did each increment until 4.5 and stopped because i wasn't sure how much heat is too much. i've been reading a lot about because saying try to stay under 80 and i do until 4.5ghz with 1.18v. i leave my computer on nearly 24/7 so is this voltage safe to do for a while and is 80c ok since thats only on prime? obviously im not underload 24/7 so i just want to make sure everything is ok! if so, is it safe to go even further? i've seen than 1.18v for a 4.5 OC is pretty decent. thanks

also, i have an msi z77a-g45 mobo, i saw a graph as i expect most of you did as well that said this (like the asrock exterme4) are not good for high overclocks because of something cant recall the name hopefully someone else can. what do you consider high overclocks because obviously i dont want to mainitain a 'high oc' if its not good for my cpu

So far you're in the clear with 80c under Prime load. I'd say 4.5GHz is the sweet spot for a 24/7 oc.

If you wanna go higher, you might need to upgrade the cooler, cause once you pass 4.5, temps tend to rise quickly.

As for bad/overheating VRMs, if you don't do extreme oc'ing & keep your setup well ventilated, it shouldn't be an issue.
