I am not scared of getting myself into used parts, so I decided to be a cheap skate and get the following. Mostly Used, some new! All prices have shipping included.

CPU:3570k- NEW: $188
HS: Corsair H100-USED: $85
MOBO: ASrock z77 Extreme4- USED: $90
GPU: 2x 7950 sapphire 950 mhz edition- USED: $510
Case: Antec P280-"USED"(BNIB): $85
PSU: Seasoni x750- NEW: $100
RAM: Samsung Low profile 8gigs- NEW: $45
HDD: WD Black 2TB- NEW: $153
OS: Win7 (Salvaged from old machine)-$90?
Monitor: Achieva Shimian 27-NEW: $305

Total cost: : 1651.00
All parts are already here, I am picking up the CPU/Mobo tomorrow (and if it doesn't go through, I can stop by the local MC to finish this off for approx: $70 more ( including taxes and travel cost).

So how'd I do?! biggrin.gif

Looks real good, only a few things. Man that HDD is pricy, I havn't bought a HDD in awhile but that is quite up there from what I remember. And the other thing is the PSU. It may be enough but I'd go with an 850 to be safe. Also I'd stick a 120gb SSD in there for OS and few games. I'd never have myself a high end build without an SSD for snappy responses.

You should be alright with 750W, but may find yourself needing a little more should you OC anything. If if you are open to it, I would send back the 2TB and maybe get a 1TB and a SSD for boot and a couple of games or often used programs.

Other than that, a solid system.

Haha ya I was thinking the same thing about the HDD and PSU. I had bought the PSU as I had planned for a single card setup, but that deal fell in my lap and I jumped on it. The HDD was kind of a dumb move as I have a 1 tb hdd right now and it's pretty much full.

What's the best way to deal with newegg to get those sent back and turned into x850 and a 1tb/ssd?

Just request an RMA from them, they will have you send them back, you will get a refund.

I can't stand using a system without a SSD, it is just too slow...I know, first world problem! biggrin.gif

The only other issue is that the x850 is like... $80 more than the x750 I got here..

We're talking around $200 extra to get this done.. I am kinda worried about that as I got rent to pay in a few weeks lol.

Well you don't NEED a seasonic psu, while very good they also carry a hefty price tag. Why not check out corsair or antec too? Theyre a little cheaper but very solid psus.

You can also grab a 128gb ssd for less than $90 now, should be sufficient to hold your os and several of your commonly used apps

I think NewEgg has a Samsung 830 128GB SSD for $80 right now....

PSU options: Antec, Corsair, Cooler Master, they are fine.

Honestly, I think 1700$ with used parts is a bad deal. I built mine for 1100$
