I'm still sad they don't offer a different GUI upon installation. I can't stand the unity desktop. it reminds me too much of mobile operating systems.

That link is some very very good information about this release. It is mostly towards the server ish end, with juju and whatnot enabling you to easily set up your own cloud that is scalable.

No, but on a serious note...I've been looking forward to this. I really hope they improved the update system...which was still the most frustrating feature as of the last version. Also, Unity just needs to go away...it has to be the most cumbersome desktop I've ever used.

You can always just do an sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop to install KDE !
