Wanted: Z77 or Z68 gen3 motherboard

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Looking for a z77 or z68 gen3 mothrrboard (preferably with up to date bios) good for taking my 3570k to 4.5ghz without blowing up. I'm kind of a newb to OC'ing, so I'd prefer something that kind of holds your hand in the bios.

My price range is around $135

no bios settings will take you that high of an overclock..the most i seen is 4.2 on the asus boards..maby the asrock oc formula?? not to sure about the i5 but it clocks the i7 well..you have to manually set your clocks and voltages to go that high..and you may want to put it under water..at 4.5 ivy starts to get really warm

Yeah, I don't trust MSI boards, though.

Nice board, but I think I have a p8z68-v/gen3 lined up for a lot less money with an updated bios. That's probably my first choice. I don't like that the UD3H doesn't have cooling over the VRM's.

I'm pretty partial to Asus. Little things like the q-connector just make them stand out for me.

Is a Z68 going to give you all the Z77 features?

If you like Asus here is a Higher tier Asus Z77 board..

Z68 gen3 has PCIE 3.0 on it. The only thing it doesn't have is native USB 3.0. Not a huge deal.

There are several reports of Z68 boards with pci-express 2.0 running 3.0 bandwidth on the main slot only, so if you plan to run only one video card that is an option as well.
