What new video card is about the same performance as my GTX480

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a new GTX 500/600 series video card that is at least the same horse power as my GTX480.

Must be Nvidia.

I'd get a GTX 670 if you can afford it, otherwise a GTX 660 Ti.
660 (non-Ti) is the most comparable in terms of performance ... it should be just slightly faster (5-15%) than your 480. It'll also use like 1/2 of the juice and make like 1/10th the noise thumb.gif

So it would seem the GTX480 is still no slouch...Just noisy.. wink.gif

The GTX660 uses the GK106, but the 660ti uses the GK104, older GPU chip... both have the same memory bandwidth. Strange..

Thanks guys...its the fight between the 660 and the ti, but for some reason I have a feeling I'll get the 670...but we will see..

If you don't mind AMD then the 7950 is the best bang for buck card available, but if you're adamant on Nvidia then get a GTX 670.

Not at stock clocks, considering most 670's boost to around 1100ish, and 7950 is usually around 850-950 (so low for Tahiti).

Overclocked, it's a pretty fair fight, they trade blows, and in more memory intensive games, 7950 pulls ahead.
