FWIW here is my app info file:

Nothing to worry about. I receive the same notification periodically as well. I believe it's related to the fact that POEM has three different applications (you can see them here). You are running the "POEM++ OpenCL version" application, not the POEM++ application. But, for some reason, POEM seems to know that you don't have an app_info file for the POEM++ application, despite the fact that you aren't running it.

Nice biggrin.gif

Wit me switching to the red team next year, i plan to pick a couple 7950/8950's to replace my venerable 470's (i would actually retire my 450 and use my 470's in a dedicated rig, but we'll see)

It would be interesting to see a top-20 chart for Nvidia as well, but considering how their 600-series are so lacking in GPGPU, i have a feeling AMD cards would be a better bang for buck.

Interesting list. Wonder if there is typo in it, as if its indeed sorted by the double precision performance then 7870 is in a bit odd spot in there.

Running Einstein@home on both of my GPU's (two WU's on each) and its pretty speedy, although 6770 shows close to 80 .. 90% load while 7870 is substantially lower load for now for some reason. Just reinstalled BOINC today tho after fresh windows install so will have to poke around a bit and figure out if I have anything misconfigured wink.gif

they are in order by single precision, since 90% of software or greater only use this. very few pieces of software and like 2-3 boinc projects are capable of taking advantage of double compute capable cards.

But then it's wrong ! My HD 5870 outscores the 7870 on both counts but is below it ?

Plus the number of shader/stream processors is also wrong...

Those numbers are theoretical numbers right from the spec comparison at Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units#Southern_Islands_.28HD_7xxx.29_series

Does anybody have real-world boinc gflops numbers for Radeon cards?
See Tex's spreadsheet, most of "us" can't compute GFlops, so just look at PPD for a given project on given hardware.

All IMHO.

P.S. HD 7950 event log entry states 7168 GF, and HD 5870 states 5440 GF

According to a FAQ at the boinc site the Gflops are calculated quite easily from the RAC score. Its simply RAC/200. I.E 50000 RAC means you compute at an average rate of 250 Gflops that day. If you run Boinc 24/7 you can also use the 60-day average BS-RAC to get more accurate averages.
