Am I missing somthing, or is WoW boring as hell? - Page 3

WOW is boring, dumb and repetative as hell..(all MMO rpgs are)
Tried Everquest 2 and WOW, i doubt i reached higher then level 15.
My biggest problem was the repetetivnes and the way charaters are limited in item usage (why do i have to be lvl 20 to be able to wear some armour shoulderpads or some sword) i couldnt digest that.. And some of the monsters to kill were rediculous too.. crabs? rabbits? millions of them ...Oh please.

I also dont understand why is 90% of all MMOs based on some magic and dragons crap.

If ya'll loking for something fresh or non magical .

try these.

Yeah, /agree

anyways, Prizefight is also a good way to start up on old games that you haven't played in awhile by making them really intense. I quit while I was ahead on prizefight and cashed out a buttload of money 200+ usd. too scared to go back because I know im going to lose eventually. lol

You dont just do quests. Ive only done the beggining quests to get to lvl 10ish then i grinded to where i am now (lvl 35). It is a slow game, sometimes it can get frustrating, but its fun to have an alternate life sometimes.

Now, there must be something I am missing, here, because over 7 million people are obsessed with that game, and reposts say that something like 40% are addicted to it... What am I not seeing?
Look at it this way. I use to often chat on msn/aim etc. Well, one day I found a mudd, aka word game like WoW. Here I could chat with people and kill monsters and stuff. A few other games down the road and I come to WoW. Now I get to enjoy some great graphics and some pretty challenging quest(I don't use thottbot). A lot of nice things to do as a group and plenty of things to do solo as well.

Also, lets look at this more closely. WoW as well as other games are more suited to people who like adventures. If you hate adventure games, which is mainly about killing things, questions and leveling then you just might not like a game like wow. I'm sorry but that's just a given. Some people like it who don't like adventure games still like WoW because of the number of friends they can make while exploring all the things the game has to offer. Which that is killing things, questioning, and leveling so you can go into more areas and repeat. However, with each repeat the challenge grows.

It's like me picking up battlefield and saying to myself, "is this whole game about shotting things?!"

Lastly, like you said yourself. A lot of people are addicted to it. Probably the most addicting game out currently. But not everyone is because not everyone likes games like that.

Yeah, WoW is one of the most boring games imo. I am glad you see it my way

Not that Dark Messiah is anything like WoW but I got the game and let me tell you, AMAZING game. You should play it instead

Let me just say what I enjoy the most about WoW. I enjoy most MMORPG's. But WoW is the only one I choose to contiue playing.

So I started playing Final Fantasy and I get to around lvl 18. I start to notice that this game is taking me hours upon hours to make it anywhere. And omg, when I die it's taking away hours of hard work! Then I go to find parties. The game has such a huge peneity for lvls within parties and it's so spread that it takes forever and a day to find a decent party. Okay, well, let me solo. Hah.. I can't solo on this game because the monsters are just to hard. *deleteing FFXI*.

Next lets look at Ranagork online. I play this game for quite awhile. Unlike WoW this game goes onto lvl 99. Once you get around lvl 60/70 the whole advanture side of the game leaves you and your stuck grinding over and over. And omg.. this game gives a huge penity for parties so hardly no one wants to party once they get onto the harder lvls. What happens when I die? I start noticing they I'm losing a lot of time of work. I ended up quitting that game too.

Now lets go to WoW. Omg, look at how many quest this game has to do. I could lvl fast and get groups just doing that. And hey, it isn't so bad lvling in a group when playing this game. As a matter of fact it's really fun in a group in this game. When I die, a lose a little money on repair bills but nothing game breaking. The better the gear I have the more money lost when dying. However, better gear means you can kill faster and face death less often. Also, while questing on a pvp server I run into trouble with other players often. What happens then? Well, if your on a good server just type /3 and friends and strangers alike will run to your aid and suddenly this has turned into a war game. Doesn't require a lot of hours to be good. I spend maybe 5-10 hours a week on WoW and I manage to upgrade my player weekly without getting left to far behind by those 40 hour playing people(60 lvl limit for the win). I ran into a whole lot of problems with the game after hitting 60. But it seems they are fixing that so history isn't going to repeat itself at lvl 70. At lvl 70 it looks like I'll be able to get everything I want out of the game and still be a casual player.

As long as WoW keeps improving the things I like about the game I'm not going to quit and go elsewhere anytime soon.

Technically speaking, using classic genre definitions, Adventure games have nothing to do with killing things or leveling. Adventure games are about exploring and solving puzzles. Classic examples are Zork, King's Quest, Sam and Max, Monkey Island, and Myst.

You're thinking of RPGs, not Adventures.
