If you're gonna throw 200$ at your computer, it would be way more worth your time to get something like this. Especially if your primary goal is just going to be higher fps in CSGO. You'll get way more out of it than you will buying a new chip. You can buy me a beer if you save a few bucks, and I'll toast to your improved fps. cheers.gif

Agree with Defunctronin. Games are still more GPU bound than CPU. With a 2500 @ 4ghz and 2 GTX 570s there is nothing that I can't play. Invest in a GPU rather than a CPU upgrade. thumb.gif

And are you sure it is the CPU whats crippling the performance and not the GTX 460?

GPU Load: 35% (average)

I think it's all about CPU, because I had few days ago i3-3220 and my fps was less about 30-40fps.

Btw. when I take off overclock from my GPU [815/1850 to 700/1800], my fps are still the same, maybe in action it's more stable, hard to say because of no benchmark in-game.

are you on the latest driver for your GPU?

and your GPU usage is low isnt it? dont you want your GPU at 100% and your CPU lower to not have a bottleneck
post #15 of 33
Well, a 3570k is only like 10% faster than then 3470, unless you take advantage of the unlocked multiplier. As to why your 460 is only pulling 35% is beyond me, because I highly doubt that your 3470 is bottlenecking it. Do you have a buddy with a faster/newer card that you can try by popping it into your system?

It just kinda sounds like something's a bit bunk with your card, or with the drivers.

Somethings wrong if its only using 35% usage. What drivers?

Yes, latest drivers 306.97.
I don't know why GPU usage is so low, maybe because I'm playing on low video settings and with 4x MSAA antyaliasing?
I want to but how to do it, and how it's possible that my CPU has bottleneck?

I see and yes I thought about overclocking new processor to equal or above 4GHz, I think it will increase my fps in this game, but I'm not 100% sure.

No buddy with better GPU than my so I can't test it.

If you want high overclock like others have mentioned, go for 2500k. If you wanna stay under 4.5ghz or so go with the 3570k. As for cpu cooler, I recommend the prolimatech megahalems. It might be relatively old cooler, but when your running a 2700k at 1.41v and 4.8ghz and it doesnt go over 70C after days of 100% full load well....you cant get much better than that unless you go under water.
Well, easy way to check if that is the reason; try maxing out settings and see what you get for usage during game.

Also, what are you using to monitor GPU usage during game?

I will think about it, thanks.

Ok, I will check it.
MSI Afterburner and GPU-Z.
