Germans shouldn't feel shame that Germany was so tightly associated with the Nazi party and it's actions, if anything we as humans should feel shame that we as a species were capable of such atrocities.

I'm with you here.

A German man is no different to a French, English or American man in psychology or biology

And totally against you here. You could make the argument that we are all similar as infants, but our psyche is incredibly influenced by our cultures. Ergo a German man is incredibly dissimilar to me, as I am to you. The fact that it was the Germans who became the Nazi's is incredibly relevant. I agree that it wasn't the youth of Germany that had anything to do with those policies, but those people still exist that supported the Nazi movement. And that's why there is shame. It's not like slavery in the Americas that's been gone for nearly 150 years. We're talking about something that occurred in lining peoples memories. Of course that's going to affect their psyches.
Note: I'm making a statement without condoning or condemning. Personally I would love to see us move beyond nationalities and race. But we as a species will likely never get there.
