I wouldn't hesitate to run both those cards on the PSU. It's not a great PSU, but it's not going to melt down if he does use it. It will handle them fine.

I would overclock that CPU and leave the cards stock though.

That PSU is reallly bad I mean really bad, I've got one as I thought it was a good bundle with my HAF X, biggest waste of £30 ever. I was scared to run my single 6870 on it never mind 2 GTX580s lol. If its at a good price, buy it then keep it until you get a new PSU.

Re: [DT] TSMC gives priority to Nvidia for 28nm capacity

Go for it , you're going to be absolutely fine , i was running two 480's on a 750w psu and that cm is a good psu so no worries mate.

That power supply is definitely not the greatest, but it's far from the worst.
It should easily be able to handle 2 580's, however with its poor ripple suppression I, personally, wouldn't do any overclocking on it.

So bottom line, get the 580, install it, don't overclock until you get a better power supply.

Note: Quality power supplies are Seasonic, most Corsairs, Enermax, PC Power & Cooling (most are built by Seasonic), and some Antec units.
There are other quality units by other manufacturers, but definitely do your research before buying a brand you've never heard of before.
