BIOS Update screwed up my RAID array

I have the Asus P9X79 Deluxe mobo. I run my OS off of a Vertex4 SSD and I have two WD RE4's in a RAID0 array for data. I also have a WD Blue for a backup drive.
After updating the bios for the mobo from v.2104.cap to v.3009.cap my computer will hang at the "starting windows" screen for more than two minutes. It will finally boot and everything seems to run fine.
I decided to try to reload windows. I started from the Win7 install disk and brought up the command prompt so I could align my SSD with Diskpart after a secure errase. When I typed "list disks", it shows all four disks with "No Media" in all there discriptions and I had to align the SSD on another computer. Even if I unplugged all the disks except the SSD and go back into Diskpart / list disk, it STILL shows all four drives with no media. If I start Diskpart from within Windows7 it list everything fine.
Someone over at [H]ardForum seemed to have the same issue here. His was with RAID1, but all he did was break his RAID array and reinstall it and that seemed to work. I have no problem doing this if it will work because I'll have to load a lot of data back onto the RAID array. I hate to go through all that and still have the same problem.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this before? I seems like it is something with RAID since all four drives still show up in Diskpart, even with them disconnected.

Also, I tried to just "roll back" to the previous 2104.cap bios and got the message "Bios out of date" When I contacted Asus with this problem they did know that the new .cap ios couldn't be rolled back to an older .cap bios. They tried it themselves and confirmed this. Their answer, for my other problem, was to send me a new bios chip with 2104 flashed onto it. Which I guess will work, but if I can just break the RAID array and reinstall it, i'll be fine with that.

Yes I did. I reset all my BIOS settings.
Does Windows look at the RAID on startup? I'm wondering why it hangs on the starting Windows screen for two minutes.

Edit: You would think that clearing the CMOS would fix this, but it didn't.

One reason I never update unless there's an issue. If it ain't broke, don't break it. tongue.gif

You've got that right. I've tried everything and still no go. I just finished with a complete reinstall and still the same. Asus is sending me a new board.
