Help me pick a Z77

Thread Starter
If all goes well when I return my faulty z68 extreme4 gen3 they wont have any in stock which will mean I will have £147.95 to spend on a new board at ebuyer.com

Now having a quick glance it looks like the choices are:

Asrock Z77 Extreme6
Asus P8Z77-V PRO
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Wifi
MSI Z77A-GD65

Now this board is going in a htpc that I will mildly overclock to around 4.5 on my 2700k

I dont think I need anything in specific on these boards as they all do everything I need as far as I know so its just a case of which board is the best?

Asus board is overall better than all others.

Do you use ATX board for HTPC?

It's more the fact that V-Pro costs like $40-50 more over here than the other options that you listed.

The real competition to P8Z77-V Pro would be UD5H, UP4 from Gigabyte, ASRock Z77 OC Formula, and MSI MPower. They all cost bout the same in the USA.

I personally prefer a Gigabyte or ASRock board. I have the UD5H and its great (slight upgrade to the UD3H.) I have had no personal exprence with anything other than Gigabite. so, if I had to pick, i would go with the UD3H WiFi

If you can stretch to a gigabyte UD5 I'd get that otherwise the Asus or the UD3 are great smile.gif

the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H could be a possibility

EDIT: although the position of the power/reset and leds could rule it out due to my case (wouldnt see the diagnostics and could accidentally push buttons constantly)
