NEWMEN GM-10 @ $37:99

http://en.360buy.com/product/newmen-blue-axis-wired-gaming-keyboard-gm-10/651866.html

360buy is now global and got some free shipping for some continents . and in that price , i assume that has to be the cheapest mech keyboard on the market

... and even if it sux , its gonna be a good platform to modify it

anyone have experienced that brand or that keyboard ?

Damn... $38 for a mechanical board? And it has MX Blues? Might have to buy one just for the lulz and see if they're any good...

Not a big fan of the layout, but for $38 I wouldn't complain...

Those aren't MX Blues. They're fake MX switches, linear but with a blue stem.

Still, for a mechanical, it's very cheap. Though, here's a related one that's even cheaper, and actually has a few real Cherry MX Black switches mixed in with fake reds.

Could one simply swap out the fake Cherry switches for real ones? Also, I can't tell for sure, but are these keyboards plate-mounted or PCB mounted? If they're PCB mounted and the fake switches can be swapped out for real ones, then it might be worth buying... I could turn one of these into a Cherry MX Clear board.

These keyboards have been out for a while on Taobao...if you find a Taobao translator and read a bunch of ads for them, you can gather more information.

If you feel too lazy to do that, though, there are a couple of ways you can tell the blues in that board aren't Cherry. First, the Cherry logo is missing from the switch housing. Secondly, compare the image of the switch mechanism to that of a real Cherry MX Blue:

It's much more like black/red, the linear switches:

Meanwhile, if you can find a good zoomed-in image of the M1, you'll notice that the blacks have the Cherry logo, while the reds do not:

Looks plate-mounted, unfortunately. Though I would assume the switches are Cherry-compatible pin-wise, since there's also a Shogun Bros version with all real switches.

Ah, good to know, thanks.

I might still buy one anyways, just to swap out the switches for real ones. Plate mounted will make it harder, but I think it's still worth doing...

Just ordered one of the Genius boards... shipping prices are incredibly stupid ($12 for 15-40 day delivery, or $20 for 3-6 day delivery) so I just spent the extra few buck to get it quicker. Will post pics and will let you know how this board is.
