Of Mousepads and Men: Looking for an Alternative to the Razer Kabuto

Hello everyone!

As you can tell from the title, I am looking for a mousepad on the go. I bought a Razer Kabuto about a year ago for my girlfriend (who games on a Sager with a Kinzu mouse) and she quite likes it. However, I am trying to see if there is even a remotely similar (but obscure) mousepad that can compare favorably to the Kabuto?

Here are a few comments about what I think:
On the Kabuto:
  • I think the Kabuto has plenty of utility. Its a fairly good mousepad with some decent tracking and it doubles as a screen/keyboard protector. However, I don't like the lightweight (it moves around a bit).
Whats important to me:
  1. The one thing that matters to me most is the feel of the mouse over the mousepad itself. I like a mousepad that utilizes the premium feet of gaming mice to their best.
  2. The quality of the tracking surface takes a secondary role, but since I am looking to buy a premium mousepad, I doubt this will be an issue.

I'm not sure if thats a great place to start, but I figured I'd take a crack at what you guys at OCN have to say. If you need more info, I will provide as I can!

Thanks!

The kabuto is a high friction very thin small cloth pad.
The size is mainly the reason it moves a little arround so you need a bigger pad. Most black pads I know are focused on giving low friction. Maybe the QCK or QCK mass will suit you, they are thicker and bigger, therefore, they will stick better, and they're not low friction so they will resemble the kabuto which is really a control pad.
