My $2000 Gaming Rig - Any Suggestions? - Page 2

Awesome, thanks for all the help. Edit: That exact PSU hasn't. The one I linked is modular. Edit 2: DERP. You were the first one to link it. Sorry, doh.gif

Is there anything I'm missing for this build? I have a keyboard, mouse, monitor and such.

As somebody mentioned earlier, I would get a different SSD. The vertex 4 performs pretty well but OCZ had some issues that I don't know if they fixed. Samsung just released the 840 and it set records on 7 of the 10 benchmarks that maximum pc uses for an ssd. The corsair neutron ssd also is incredibly fast and just a touch slower than the samsung 840.

Edit: I would also say the Crucial m4 and plextor m5 are also better choices. The m4 has come down quite a bit in price but the m5 is still pretty pricey.

The only thing you're missing is awesomeness, but that's because you haven't built it and overclocked it yet! wink.gif

I trust you guys way more than I trust my own google research. I'll go with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147192

Do you see any other ways I can save a little money? (Besides that fact that I'm spending an extra $50 on a SSD)

Another way to save some cash is by selecting from one of these boards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128544&name=Intel-Motherboards
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128546&name=Intel-Motherboards

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131830&name=Intel-Motherboards

And by choosing the Crucial M4 as an SSD (linked in my first post, also) smile.gif

OP you might also want to look at the MSI Mpower motherboard. Each board is tested at oc settings in the factory for 24 hours before shipping out.
MSI Mpower

If you ever want to get a 2nd 680 for sli you will need a higher wattage psu. That capstone series is an excellent series of psus. What type of games are you going to play?
