High temps on new loop "PROBLEM SOLVED"

Thread Starter

This is my first time trying a custom loop and I am not getting the results I was hoping for. I am not sure if the pump is not giving me enough pressure or the block is not seated correctly, I have reseated it twice with the same result.

I installed this on my TROUBLEMAKER system in my sig, here is a list of what I installed

XSPC EX240

XSPC Dual Bay Res

Laing D5 Pump

XSPC Raystorm

PrimoFlex 7/16" ID tubing

4 Scythe Slipstream 110cfm fans

MX4 TIM

and here is a pic of it when I was putting it together

and my temps at idle with fans at 100%  it got up to 89c while folding

Any thoughts on whats wrong?

Double and triple check for air bubbles in the loop by giving your case a good shake. Also, tap the tubes all over the place. This is a common problem.

Maybe try a reset, is there flow? Maybe the pump isn't moving the liquid. Put your head next to the pump, is there any humming noise? Unless the fan running at 4500rpm is the pump, then this is really weird. Or maybe there is so much air in the pump it has to get rid of the air before it can flow.

I have been doing this frequently, and there always seem be be a bubble that forms just at the exit of the CPU block, I lay the case flat and it comes out only to return the next day, I see no bubbles going into or out of the rad

I see water movement in the res, and the pump is the only thing I have plugged into a fan header so it must be the 4500 rpm, all the fans are on a fan controller

Maybe try increasing the speed on the pump with the dial, could fix it.

Maybe you didn't apply the TIM the right way.
If you have your rad fans on push you may circulating the hot air from your case through your rad ( you have 2 gpu on air which they produce a lot of heat).

Unfortunately this pump doesn't have the dial

I didn't think about the GPUs I thought the heat came out the other end but you could be right, and I will try reapplying the TIM again also, good suggestions thanks  thumb.gif

Is the pump plugged into a 4 Pin or 3 pin? Try setting a fan curve and it might crank it up.

Can you move the Res/Pump to a higher slots so any air will naturally want to collect in the res and not the rad?
