Sleeving Update:

SLI bridge sleeved with MDPC sleeving. Looked easy, so I thought I would try it. Definitely wasn't easy. tongue.gif

Haha, thanks hammerforged. Yea, I actually had to do that to keep from marring the shrink wrap with the pliers. The shrink wrap was impossible to pull over the SLI connector by hand, so I kind of rigged it. \smile.gif/ Welcome to the build. smile.gif

Thanks Fuga. There is a trick to the shrink wrap too. You take the creased ends and rotate them so they are on the top and bottom of the flat SLI cable, instead of on the side edges. If you don't do this, the heatshrink will actually snap before properly setting. Well that's what I found anyway. It took me about 6 attempts to get this done, I've never seen a guide on it, doubt there is one. Yes, it's all fun and games until you try to get the heatshrink over that plug, haha. Getting the measurements for the sleeving isn't exactly a cakewalk either, although it seems like it would be.

I posted an answer to your question over on the C&S forum but I'll repeat it here. The reason you don't start moving wires around on the Seasonic is because some (the platinum 1000 for sure) is sensitive to changes in regards to "jump starting" the psu when not connected to the motherboard. On my first one I tried moving the wiring around but making sure all voltage and grounds and other critical wiring matched. The end result is that although everything worked fine when the cable was plugged into the motherboard, shorting the cable pins would not "jump start" the psu. That means for water coolers not a good thing since there will likely be times you need to fill the loop and don't want much more than a pump running. Or of course you could just use a separate psu to run the pump temporarily.
I make up all my own psu wiring and just keep the stock 24 pin handy for reference when plugging in all the pins. Takes me a couple of hours to do the 24/18/10 pin from scratch with a good sports game on the TV. I cut all the wires, pin them, sleeve them, then stick 'em in.
HTH.

Really? You've paid along the lines of $1000 more for your system (easily actually) and yet I'm getting 0.1 of a lower score on my CPU and everything else is the same? I know WEI is bad, but wow.

EDIT:
I also use the same exact gloves when working with my hardware...people think I'm crazy and funny for doing it, but for certain items, the gloves are a must for me.

Personally, I would rather not see anything with the word 'Asus' on it when I look at my build, haha. I couldn't wait to get that thing sleeved. biggrin.gif

Thanks for this info Mandrix, I wonder what the explanation for this is? Also, today I learned that I severely underestimated the total length of wiring that would be in my system. I ordered a 100 ft. spool of wire. lol. What was I thinking?

Haha Matt-Matt. Performance never increases linearly with $$ now does it? However, just wait until I get this thing fully OC'd, then we'll talk wink.gif

Yes, I would lose my sanity without these gloves. I am already fretting in my head about how I'm going to sanitize everything before including it in the loop. I'm a bit anal about these things... Thanks for stopping in Mike.
