multi displys are cool but I dont like having borders and bezels in the way, thats why I use a 52" screen.... I guess it comes down to opinion lol

2560x1600 is a single monitor resolution btw

Actually the point of the thread was to compare multi threaded performance between the 3 processors. It will only be a great processor if amd brought power consumption down by a decent amount and the price is indeed 199.99.

this is the sad part for me. it does "ok" on multi threaded benchmarks and sucks with everything else. if it beats a 3770k when all cores are being utilized then we may have a winner like what we had with the 1090T vs. i7 950. without a doubt the i7 950's were the better overall chips BUT with multicore applications the 1090T beats it. AND it's cheaper and the neat thing is you can slap it on an am2+ board with ddr2 memory with just a bios upgrade. at least it has a selling point. it's really hard to justify these FX chips. not to mention the FX cpu's are power hogs.

i really hope PD fixes the power consumption numbers. I really want AMD to succeed. imo they should just scrap the whole cpu department and focus more on the APU's and their graphics department.

Hmmm last time I went out and bought a 990FX board in anticipation of BD after believing all the hype. I won't be falling for it this time! I want to see launch results.

The last time the hype was pushed by AMD.... I've never seen a company soooo quiet about a CPU launch in my history of computing. There has been about zero marketing on PD. The hype is only individuals hyping it.

People need to realize, is at best, if the planets align and we are VERY lucky, it will be much more comparable to an i5 in gaming overall, not just well threaded games.

In reality, it's going to be a more efficient, faster per clock BD that should hopefully run cooler and overclock well.

That alone is enough justification for me to go from my 8120 to an 8350. thumb.gif

LOL STARCRAFT 2 at that resolution? W T F... as u can see
my avatar has SC2 image... so i play a lot Sc2
and i play at 1920*1080 and my FPS goes beyond 48fps
usually stays at 60+ FPS all the time except when a big battle happes that it dropped to like 35ish AND is not bad
because it is just for a 2-3 seconds...

i dont know why ppl based all tha failure to 1 game W T F again?? sorry for my language
but im tired of this same subject BD is bull... whatever
i dont even now why intel lovers keep posting on AMD thread for god sake please!! stop

i dont need 80fps on a game that i will play just fine with 60fps, do you intel lovers understand that? hope you do.

i have played so far on my FX8150 with 60fps most of the games including this

CRYSIS 2
BATTLEFIELD 3
STARCRAFT 2
BATMAN ARKAM ASSYLUM
MW3
MASS EFFECT
DEAD SPACE

and some other old games and they all play at MAX SETTING and 60fps

You get a higher physics score? Because that was the idea there

Remembered that all those benchmarks are multi-threaded, and yet FX-8350 fails to beat intel. Just imagine how it will perform in lightly-threaded benchmarks against the competition.
