[H] 8350 Leak vs 3770K -HT - Page 3

The deciding factor will to see how the 8350 will overclock. If it can OC up to 5ghz+ on air (which may not be too difficult from other reports I have seen) then it will be superior to the i5.

Again, the two major factors for this chip will be better performance per clock, and price. If AMD could do what they did with the phenom chips and have the stock heatsink allow for a minimal OC, I think that AMD might actually wipe the floor with anything below and i7.

This looks great! Makes me want to rethink upgrading to an LGA2011 setup since going this route will be MUCH cheaper and offer 90% performance.

Is CHV still top dog for 990FX?

Now I just want to know how far you can take this chip on a decent water cooling setup such as:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16071/ex-wat-211/XSPC_Raystorm_EX360_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_w_D5_Variant_Pump_Included_and_Free_Dead-Water_.html?tl=g30c321s1310

If around 5.5 is possible then we have a sure winner.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........no

even if this chip could go to 6ghz, it probably won't compete against a 3930K clocked at 5ghz.

Even if this chip could OC well enough to beat out an i7 3770K at 4.8ghz it would be a sheer miracle let alone beating out a 6 core 12 thread cpu.

I don't see the 8350 overclocking that much better then BD. 5.0-5.2 might be doable on high end water but you'll need to be at like 6ghz to match a 3770K at 4.6

Slightly behind basically a i5 3570k..And thats their top gun. Wished it was a little bit stronger to push the prices down and enforce competition, even though im an Intel guy.
Like that wasn't obvious. rolleyes.gif

How so? Considering that BD was slower than their existing Phenom II line, and now their new line is equivalent to Intel's 3rd gen core i processors; how is this "square one"?

I think the biggest thing that all of you failed to look at was AMD's floating point score as compared to Intels. The 8350 literally falls right in between a 3570k and a 3770k. This is awesome for gamers.

If these are even remotely accurate, and the rumored pricing is correct, I do believe AMD may have a winner on their hands.

well i need a new build and sofar the one in my sig rig as proposed rig is best for the available money but if this 8350 pulls out the stops and give similiar or within good margain performance then i'll change my proposed rig because it'll give me great performance somewhat rivaling I5's and better scalability in terms of Rendering which is somewhat crucial to me like the I7's. redface.gifbiggrin.gif

Why do that again, where is Single Core CINEBENCH 11.5, most of user use aplication for 2-3 cores, single core is so important like anything, CINEBENCH of both AMD 8350 and 3770K HT Link single core, I don't care without HT or with HT. I use 3770k like they work best. Because that is point, best of AMD 8350 and best of 3770k.
And why is always AMD offer USB 3.0 and SATA III and PCI-E x16 one and second x8.
Say like man USB 3.0, SATA 3.0, PCI-E 2.0 no support for PCI-E 3.0. Bottleneck every best graphic on world, not this and this and this and than someone ask why my HD7970 work in PCI-E 2.0 mode or series 9xxx one day in PCI-E 2.0 mode
I can say my is somewhere OC close to 3960x but that two is two different worlds. And single core my is closer to 3960x than 8350 with me.
