You don't have enough spare molex plugs?

Personally, I would not have gotten those cables. Regular SATA cables are secure enough.

It seems that the SATA power connectors have different color wires (red, orange, yellow, black) than the standard molex (red, yellow, black, black.) Thus, I don't think it's too easy to change

No, that's from moles to SATA... he needs from SATA to Molex.

However, I do notice that this adapter has the same color coding as a molex... so I guess it does not matter that much.

No, the two hard drives would not be too much. Get a splitter for one of the three molex connectors, and you should be fine.

Here is one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812183147

Get two of those. Connect one to your first molex connector for the two hard drives. Connect another one to the second molex connector for the two optical drives. Then, you'll have one molex left over for the fans

Understanding that the root of your question was about power. I offer the following simply as a suggestion. Rather than getting additional cables and hassling with power stuff, a small bit of hot glue will make even a loose cable secure (and still removable later). Just a thought.
