So I was having connection issues for a few days. The client was continuously connecting, it never connected for days straight. I finally decided to just reinstall the program. It connected, but now it can't update the client and has been doing the same update for the past 3 days... I'm at a loss
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
F@H Client 7.1.52
The Client is not folding and yeah, I'm talking about F@H Control. It has been in an update state for over 72 hours straight.
The work unit has a "Waiting On Fahcore Update." It also says that it has attempted this update 0 times.... weird.
I understand, I had it happen a few times now. Have you changed the IP address at all? This usually happens to me if the client is running under 127.0.0.1 but FAHcontrol is looking for 192.168.xxx.xxx.

Have you tried uninstalling and including all of the data with it? Also delete it from the install directory after installing. Then run something like CCleaner, then try to reinstall.
Just checking out the log and it looks like it made a few successful connections on port 80 but not on port 8080. Then it starts failing to update the core package:
It's been a while since I upgraded to 7.4.4, but I do remember that it wanted to default to the web control. This can be disabled by editing the startup link:
On the line highlighted below there will be --open-web-control at the end of the line. Remove it and click OK save the shortcut.
The Advanced Control interface can be opened by right-clicking the folding icon in the system tray.
^That's some useful info, thank you. I'm using 7.4.4 and still getting the same results though. This server has some stricter firewall settings that is probably blocking communications so I'm looking into that
Same problem here. I flushed my DNS cache right from the beginning but from the looks of it, that is not the problem. Running on a Toshiba Satellite with 12GB and 4 core HyperThreaded (8 virtual CPUs) and integrated graphics, i.e. nothing fancy but should be enough to handle the CPU core.
