And some of these people that will blindly think Apple is allowed 75% profit on a freaking tablet, will scream bloody murder about the oil industries making 8-10% profit on their products...While decrying collusion, price gouging, etc..... Sorry, that garbage doesn't wash with me....

And Soth hits the hypocrisy problem right square in the nose. THIS is the problem. The COMMUNITY Apple focuses on, hip young morons who are more interested in trendy then honest or accurate.

I never had a issue with a company making profits....even high profits per the cost of the product...but the same ones that decry and whine that ONE segment of the market making a 8-10% profit on their product, while paying through the nose for another product that produces 75%+ profit for another segment of the the market....I am sorry...the hipsters and progessives can pound salt for all I give a damn... If those progressives really gave a damn of "windfall" profits, they should be demanding apple pay for the billions they have in offshore profits

First, if your refering to the galaxy 7" tab its been out for a year, if your talking about the mini s3 phone that is conpletly different. The s3 is to big for alot of people while the s3 mini is a better fit for people with smaller hands...not rrally a comparision to a company releasing a 7" tablet 3 years too late.

All comes down to satisfaction per $. A friend of mine once thought she bought an english bulldog for $75. Came over to see it and it turned out to be a strange pitbull mix from a puppy mill. Somehow I was never able to convince her of that.

This is a bit different than pure brand loyalty....this is something companies like Apple and Nvidia depend on to justify for their higher price per unit, more than their satisfaction per $ ratio...try to convice any rabid apple/intel fan of that...it will probably fall on deaf ears....

Brand loyalty...I know you did not miss the overall context of my post...so do not please act like you have no clue...a good portion of "satisifaction per $" is based on brand loyalty...you will see this in any die hard nvidia/ati fan or intel/amd fan... I have had systems that are amd and ATI gpus to intel and nvidia cards...all dependent on what i view is the best price per perfomance.... I will admit I got it wrong this generation of GPU.... but the GPUs perform so closely(and I have already bought the gpus in question and have no desire to jump elsewhere till the next series)... Apple generally depends on rabid fans to buy any new iteration of a product they put out, regardless of the price tag...
