S III
Pros:
Bigger Screen - .1 of an inch is not really bigger
AMOLED - I wouldn't say that Amoled screen is a Pro, One X has the best screen on the market, hence its a pro of One X
Expandable Memory (It will replace my 32GB ZuneHD for music) - This I agree with but soon to be One X+ fixes the issue
1.9MP front-facing cam - Not a Pro since difference is virtually none
Video up to 60 FPS - agree but not huge issue in reality
thinner
better gestures (swipe screenshots, top tap to go to top of webpage...) - Disagree
colors
Cons:
PRICE
Amoled
Touchwiz
Build Quality
Unknown:
ARM-Cortex A9 Quad Core 1.4GHz & ARM Mali-400 Graphics vs. Tegra 3 - Both have same CPU/GPU on AT&T
Stock Audio (S III) vs. Beats Audio (One X) - Virtually no difference
One X
Pros:
PRICE
Screen
Build Quality
Sense UI
Feels grippier
slightly better battery?
Cons:

non-expandable memory (means I will have to manage my already 21GB Music library)[/quote

EDITED, Overall I would go with One X, its miles better then S3, which is hyped to hell

From your own edits, it seems they are not 'miles apart' as you claim, but incredibly close.

Having used both, I MUCH prefer the S3 for the better gestures (yes they are better than the One X), expandable memory (What comes on the One X+ isn't relevant in this comparison as it will most likely be more expensive when it launches than either the S3 or the One X), battery life is better from my experience on the S3, and the build quality isn't an issue unless you're a klutz and drop your phone all the time. The S3 feels lighter and yet more solid in my hands than the One X did. And the differences between TW and Sense are miniscule and it comes down to user preference. I personally didn't like Sense. Also, from doing it on both, rooting the S3 is easier than the One X. Least it was for me, took just a few minutes.

HA3AP doesn't know what he's talking about.

Build quality and TouchWiz are pros of the Samsung Galaxy S3. TouchWiz has been so optimized that it rivals the iPhone's iOS in terms of smoothness. No other Android smartphone can rival the smoothness and reliability of the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The HTC One X probably has the worst build quality out of all smartphones. For example: poor antenna build quality failing to connect to the Internet, poor camera quality (19 FPS video recording) just to name a few.

HTC Sense is the worst feature of all HTC smartphones. Bloated, buggy as crap and slow as a snail.

I doubt that the new phones will be much more (if they are at all) expensive than the S3 while outperforming it.

One X has a better screen and body. SGSIII has a removable battery, sdcard and much more dev friendly.

If you want root however, go for the SGSIII. The new AT&T update hasn't been rooted yet so unless you get a phone with the previous version, no root, no roms.

that was the international one x.

the one x's build quality is far superior to the galaxy s3, and the one x has a much better screen.

How is AMOLED a con for the S III? I have seen both screens, and I know that they are virtually non-differentiable, not to mention AMOLED is known for great battery life. Also, Sense UI vs. Touch Wiz is an opinion thing which I have already stated I prefer touch wiz. You still ignore the enormous pro for the S3 that is expandable memory. I'd also like to see your proof of better build quality for the One X.

thanks for the input, I never stated or intended to imply that they were miles apart, but there are some big issues (expandable memory, gestures) that put the S III ahead in my mind. I will be using a decent case on it and have insurance as well, and I do not drop my phone often. I have held and used both, I prefer the S III's UI.

How will they outperform it? not to mention that next month the prices will drop on ALL phones except the new releases.

I very well might be rooting.

And for those of you suggesting waiting for another phone to be released, you forget a few things.
They WILL be more expensive, or drive the price of the S III down. (likely both)
I do not like the feel of the LG Nexus phones, plus their build quality, in my personal experience, is below par. The note is far too big, and has crappy battery life, whereas the Note II is too expensive.

They're coming with either the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core or the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro quad core CPU (depending on phone) which are much better than the dual core you'll get from the U.S. Galaxy S3.
