HAF-X mods / ideas.

I was wondering whether anyone can give me some ideas of what to do, I'm bored out of my mind and I have a HAF-X , so maybe mods? Any kind of mod, just something to keep me busy smile.gif

Specs of my computer

I5 3570k (stock heat sink)
ASRock Extreme4 z77
16gb G.Skill ripjaw-z ram
Sapphire 7970 OC (1150/1500 MHz overclock stock volts)
1 tb hdd
700 watt cooler master extreme power supply.
HAF-X
Samsung S27A950D (27 inch, 3D, 120Hz monitor)

I'm thinking of getting a Samsung 830 SSD 256 gb.

Should I buy anything else for my rig ?

I'd get a new cooler for your CPU to give you some oc room. I'm considering taking my drive bays out to put my gpu rad in the front for better airflow.

Yeah I was thinking either a H100 or a Noctua NH D14. Not sure if the noctua will fit with my 16gb of ram, so if not ill get H100

Do you have just a singular gpu water cooling loop ? if thats possible, I don't know. Haha

Sorry didn't reply called into work, you can fit a h100 in push pull quite easily with or without the top 200mm fans and the nhd14 should fit also just raise the fan slightly.

I don't run a loop I have a h100 for my CPU on the top and 620 soon be h60 for my gpu
I have the gpu rad on the back exhausting but it takes air from the CPU rad so was going to move it to the front.

Yeah I was thinking of adding an extra 120mm fan at the front of the case and getting a Noctua nh d14, the front fan reduces the CPU temperature a little.

I'm honestly not sure, heard there is a lot of problems with H100, and the noctua will make my case look less empty wink.gif But H100 somewhat look better.

Oh I never knew you could put a H60 onto a gpu ? I would do it but then you would have to buy the gpu plate. 7970 watercooling plates cost a fair bit and I'm not going to have it forever

I have both the h100 n nh-d14 n they pretty much come online with each other, I took the 140mn off the back of my case and ziptied it to the front bays
There has been the odd leak issue but test it outside your comp for few hours 1st and corsairs pretty good at rectifiyin issues.

Yea check out the Nvidia and ati mod clubs. All you need is a bracket from Dwood or chmodlabs and a h60 or 620. Not sure yours needs a shim think there free or extra quid or something. You don't need a gpu block and it's transferable to
Other gpu's

Yeah I was going to use a 120mm fan and Ziptie it to the front of the bays

Oh you don't ? I may just look into this ! Would it be better cooling than the stock cooler ? Sapphire dual X and vapor x technology or a H60

Thanks (:

it's better than stock cooling by a long shot. I would say the h60 as the mounting is a tad stronger.
You can get the one with the fan mount to keep the vrms cool
My temps on my gpu don't go above 55 using stress test yet was close 45 when idle with stock cooler. My idle is 30-35 with antec
620

Oh sweet !

Yeah my gpu temperature is 64 degrees,100% load (heaven benchmark) and it usually idles around 32 degrees depending on room temperature. And that's at an overclock of 1150 / 1500 MHz stock voltage.

Would I be able to get a bracket for a 7970 over here in Australia ? And how much ?
