Pick up a 3 pin female connector and turn it to whichever side you want to use for reference. I have a habit of turning the side up where the pins are visible in the slots. Then make yourself a diagram showing where the Yellow (rpm sensing wire) Red (positive voltage) Black (ground or negative) wires go. Some cable extensions I've seen don't always follow the yellow, red, black color scheme but they are all wired the same regardless.
22 gauge wire is fine. If I'm going to be crimping double wires I tend to use 26 gauge as it's easier (but still a pain) to fit into the pins before crimping.

You can daisy-chain the wiring, in other words red to red to red to red, etc. When you sleeve them it will be like the "double wire" method in Lutro0's guides except at the ends of the chain. This also requires crimping double wires to pins the way I do it.

You could use a branching method with all branches soldered to a main wire. When I say "branches", imagine a horizontal line with vertical lines intersecting and that would be what I mean. In this case you would need to solder them, and sleeving is a bit more difficult.

There are other ways I guess, but this is the two basic ways I do it. Since fans usually have female connectors, I use male connectors for the harness. One for each fan plus one extra if you will be using a separate wire running to your controller. For that matter I have made multiple harnesses and connected them together.

Or I guess you could just remove all the connectors and just solder the wires together and only have a connector where it plugs into your controller. You will probably not want to do this.

Use a good high watt controller if you are going to stick 6-8 fans per channel. I like the FC8 (30w/ch) and FC9 (50w/ch).
