Hello, weird question and terminology incoming.
I have iPECS-300 switchboard with hundreds of lines and w/e else.
99.8% of them is IP based, I guess, since they got these "smart phones". I've been told there are few "stupid" lines.
Now what I need is voice modem so I can hook one line to PC with answering machine software on it to auto-answer and record. What modem do I get? What line do I use?
Now I tried to connect to creative DI5655 this line from "smart phone" and not sure if modem is not capable or because it's not analog line or what is wrong there.
dialer.exe did not work and when I did modem test I got at#cls= unknown, after googling it seems that modem is not capable of voice. And yet some will assure that it's not that and it should work.
My knowledge is poor in telephony therefore Asterisk is not considered.
What are best options in this situation?

Answering machine appliance is not good in this situation because it must be able to place in networked location recording or e-mail it and record at least 1 hour continuously.
