Skyrim caps at 60FPS?

This is related to monitors!
My monitor (VH238H asus) has a 60Hz display, and Skyrim caps at 60FPS, no matter what. Do I have Vsync on or something? Or is it just my monitor?

60Hz is equal to 60FPS. You probably have Vsync on, but I would keep it on.

The game is capped at 60FPS.

You can unlock it pretty easy and I did this for my 120Hz monitor. The problem is the engine is bugged so when you have a high frame rate, objects and other crap starts flying about all over the place when you enter a room.

This. For some reason a lot of the physics calculations seem to include framerate, so although you can force off vsync it's not recommended unless you want to play a poltergeist simulator.

I'd recommend turning it off via the iPresentInterval=0, forcing off in the GPU drivers, and then setting a cap with a program like Dxtory.

Unless of course the mouse lag doesn't bother you.
