SSD, SSD, SSD.

Would you rather wake your neighbors up with your typing, or boot your system in 10 seconds?

Mech keyboard with cherry browns, it'll last at least a decade (typing on a 1988 Model M mini here).

Edit (mech keyboards without click leaves aren't that loud guys, and there are also mech keyboards with padded bases that make them fairly silent)

SSD.

Although I love them both, I enjoyed my SSD upgrade far more than I would any keyboard.

SSD is the obvious choice between the two. Mechanical keyboards are a preference that is somewhat overrated. An SSD on the other hand is a guaranteed performance boost.

Okayyyyyyyy.....

Please pay no attention to the above comments because they simply aren't the correct answer.

The correct answer is....it is a personal choice.

Here is the reality of things. An SSD will speed up your loading times in games, that much is true. But if you are an online gamer and you play BF3 or WoW, then an SSD is not going to benefit you as much as it would someone who is playing skyrim.

On the flip side, the mechanical keyboard will help your gaming, but not as much as you think. If you played MW3 and you had a kill death ratio of about 1, then it would probably only increase the ratio by about .1

in the end, you should get what ever you would replace something you hate.
