SSD or Mechanical Keyboard? - Page 3

This is like asking someone who is starving to death on a desert island without food and water. You give them a choice - Go back to civilization and live a normal life again (SSD) - OR stay there with some food and water (keyboard).

I feel no need for an ssd because I'm still loading into smite and CS Go maps faster than my friends that have them, I could never under any circumstances use a rubber dome keyboard again.

Edit: Just saying it is a completely personal preference situation , the op should get both at some point and simply has to decided what means more to him now. Load/boot up times or an improved typing and gaming experience.

Definitely go for an SSD.

I got one just a few days ago, and my god is it fast. Like, It's really, really fast.

I love my SSD, but when you put it that way, I hate my neighbors with a burning passion which the English language cannot describe, and my computer runs 24/7, it's only rebooted if it crashes or I update my drivers. So if I were deciding simply on your question, keyboard.

Honestly an SSD and a mechanical keyboard are two things I could not be without anymore. If I had to re-buy everything computer related from scratch, I'd go with a lower end CPU and GPU in my rig to fit both an SSD and a mech keyboard into the budget.

SSD all the way. It's not just the boot time, it's the entire OS and programs that are more snappy. You don't wait for files to load in the Windows Explorer, every program starts in an instant.

While I can somewhat work without a mechanical, let's say recently I shopped for the SSD for my laptop before shopping for the laptop.

Yup!

An i3 with SSD and mech keyboard > i5/i7 any day of the week in my book!

As others have stated I feel that this is something that is almost completely going to boil down to personal preference. For example I have a couple mechanical keyboards but my favorite is my beat-up rubber-domed Logitech G11. On the other hand I am the most impatient person I know so the three PCs I own are SSD/RAID-SSD. So, if I was in your shoes I would get the SSD without a question.
