Don't get Arctic Silver 5 in any case, there are newer compounds that are better. But you aren't going to see any difference anyway, so I wouldn't spend any money on it. The stuff CoolerMaster puts with the cooler is actually pretty decent. Your application method is going to have a bigger impact on the temps than the type of compound, unless you get something exotic like Collab Liquid Pro.

ok...artic silver 5 has allways been one of the best ..and temp wise will be better then coolermasters tim..please dont listen to this guy..but either way the cpu will work and the 212 will keep it cool..i just figured for 6 bucks it woesnt a big deal.

Well believe me or not, but here's some testing that shows no appreciable difference between pretty much any thermal paste. So unless you are using diaper cream or pink lipstick you should be fine.

As you can see from the chart, a whopping 2 degree difference between AS5 and the included Coolermaster thermal compound kit
