i'm planning to overclock either to its limits using custom water cooling (then play the latest games with ultra high and FSAA/MSAA 16x. which is better in terms of everything like games and stuff (stock and OC'ed).

Agreed. Both could probably handle 1080p, but without any kind of AA.
Best of those two... the 5830.

if you wana max games you need at least a 660ti or a 7870. maby even a 670 or 7950 if you want great frames with all eyecandy on

My GTS 450 could handle 1080p and 40-60 FPS's in most games, with no AA, and mid-high details. Being the 550 an OC'd version with a bit more bandwidth of the 450, i bet it can. Also the 5830 is roughly equal to a GTX 460.
I agree none of them will be able to run games with 4x AA. For that you need heaps of VRAM and a powerful GPU. My vote goes to GTX 670/680 or 7950/7970. Heck, even older-gen cards like a 3 GB 580 could do it, depending on his resolution. My 470's surely can handle at least 8x MSAA @ 2048x1156.

ya some singleplayer games..but multiplayer..forget about it.i had a 460 a 570 670 680.. the 570 could max games but go online..forget about playable frames on some games well on max settings
