New to Mechanical Keyboard... Help choosing the one?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I've been a long time reader, and I've looked into Mechanical keyboards recently, and I'd really like to buy one. I have a limit of 200$, and I mainly play WoW. Any suggestions?

I really like the Ducky Shine 2, but what switches would you suggest for a game like WoW? Brown? Blue?

Ps: I also type a lot.

Thank you.

Many gamers like to use browns due to their tactile feel, much like blues, but have less of a 'clicky sound', therefore they can game in somewhat peace. Have a look at the Mechanical keyboard guide here.

The type of key really comes down to personal preference. I prefer black myself.

I'd advise getting a regular membrane razor board with some macro keys on it for WoW and a Filco/Ducky/Leopold for typing. If you use your typing board for gaming as well, you'll just find certain over-used keys dying before others.

Also, if you go and get a board that has macros, mech-keys and the works. You'll find that it probably does few (if any) of those features well. *cough*Tt MEKA*cough*

I suggest Ducky Blues, however, if you don't like the clicking sound, then just get ducky browns. smile.gif

Also Das keyboards are nice, so are hackadays but its exspensive as heck.

Best mech keyboards are special made ones from korea, its insanely hard to get lol.

Coz he is only playing WoW with it lol. I don't see the point in getting a mech board just to beat it around and not even use all those sexy mech keys. That is a waste imo.

Having said that, they can do whatever the heck they want with it. Their money, not mine.

Was planning on posting the exact same thread but will just monitor this one. Not really just for WoW but mmos overall where WASD as well as fast typing are important? Browns are really hard to find here, Blues and Blacks are most common, but I would like a brown. How do blacks feel? I am a heavy typer (people tell me it's like I wanna wreck the keyboard when I type), will the black suit me?

I don't think the clicking blues are good for gaming, typing maybe, but not gaming. Looking to decide between blacks or browns. But like I said, browns are really hard to find..
