Ram issues

Thread Starter
I had to replace a bad PSU and I got a new case.
System specs
950 stock speed intel cooler
x58 sabertooth
reference 6950
corsair 600
corsair 90gig ssd 500gb hdd.
12gig ram its on the approved list.
I installed windows 7 after I formatted the ssd. I see only 4 gigs of ram.I had all of it before It sees only 4gig in bios and in windows. cpuz sees all of it. I have the default ram profiles, no xmp. cpuz says the ram is in single channel. I updated the bios, no change. Also, when I put pc on sleep mode takes awhile to go to desktop will turn off and on a few times. Is this a windows 7 feature? How do I disable it?

If you haven't done already, test your memory with memtest86,stick by stick.

Do you have the memory installed in the same color slots?

Either installation is incorrect, or you may have a defective motherbroard.

Cheers

Unrelated to topic but, I want to add another 6950 for BF3. Even though I don't have a OCed cpu will it be enough?

U will be fine on BF3 by adding another 6950. You will get great performance.

Can u try the sticks in another computer?
