i like the features of the asrock better im keeping it lol

my question is that is the custom water cooler? and if i do it, it will be a light show lol tons of leds more the better
post #12 of 193
Id go Quad Sli 680s All on water = 25% faster then 2 690s And you will have true 4gb Vram and 4 cards all on water look much better.

With a red/blk theme you could do black lights in it etc..

XL2420T, but 3 of them might be out of budget. That's what I have, and for stereoscopic 3D they are incredibly good.

He's got 6k, not 15!!!

Oh, and I'd look at your case choice carefully if you go water cooled. I take it this rig will have to be transported around, so all watercooling will have to be internal and easy/safe to transport. Case Labs is probably the only place you should be looking if watercooling this sort of build - you need more like a small shed than a case. Stuff just won't fit in, even if the case says it will take certain rads in certain places, it's just not practical in anything other than a massive case to water cool this sort of build - you're probably going to need at least 1080mm of rad. See the "big budget boomer box" build thread on here at the moment for a good example of an over-the-top watercooled build in a case-labs case.

Rad wise, I use a Phobya supernova 1080 and it's great for a cheap rad. 3 x 360s would cost an absolute ton more, and yeah, performance would be somewhat better probably, but not by a huge amount and certainly not by an amount that would make it worth the extra money. Also, the Phobya 1080 has an optional fan grill for 4x180mm fans, which are a ton quieter than 9x120mm, not to mention cheaper - I use Silverstone FM181s. I think some of the case labs cases can take 1080 rads natively.

Dude
In honesty just go with multiple set ups
Like two or three kick ass mini builds

Prodigy Bitfenix case
Asus z77 I deluxe
Gskill memory Or Samsung wonder glory kick ass ram
Sandy bridge or icy bridge your choice
Lightning edition 680s msi
H100 all around
This is to easy then you paint the case to different schemes and do a art of sister twin brother type thing
Like one case is a
Sic fi build theme ( space craft like Apollo rockets or futuristic)
Steam punk theme ( to relate to the futuristic theme)

You'd really make people happy using the money properly
Plus learn tons of modding skils
Then get a
Couple 120hz monitors for each..think you'll be good

the reason for the ram and hdds is because we will also use it for large HD video editing aslo and we need to save every video we make.

do u have an idea of how much more it will cost? i would like to do the watercooling and ik it will be alot of work but it will be worth it to me. i could get one less 680 and just water cool it all?

i have heard good things about ocz and the Corsair Neutron Series is my second choice

how about this?

no reason to get 3 of the Seagate Baracudas.

what do you need 9 Terabytes for?

If you actually THINK you're gonna use that much, get it, otherwise, get one Terabyte and use the extra money where it really matters

Or go with one beast case and one giant retarded not fully bein used build
Then again its because you can

If your goin to be simulating medical situations and doing such like that rendering human tissue and cellular structure with the killer grant the pharma had given ya then ya one giant but if not
Make life easy an buy multiple and show off that you truly know how to use the money in some affordable power houses ( affordable because he has tons o cash)
