Performance is up across the board. Usually between 5-20%. 3DMark11 got a pretty substantial boost.
I think the king, though, is BF3. It got a whopping 20-25% boost in performance on the 7970 Ghz edition!

As usual AMD delivered good hardware and alpha level drivers.
Now you are celebrating as a victory over Nvidia? Who are the fanboys now?
As I said in my previous post, Im really glad they are keeping up because we all need some competition, but lets not make things look like an achievement when they should be a given from the beginning.
GCN is a long-term architecture for AMD. This driver improvement will also benefit future cards based on the GCN architecture as well. Kepler has had a few tweaks here and there over time, but all-in-all, the architecture based on GK104 has probably been wrung dry of performance, while GCN, which is a more complex architecture, will probably benefit from future optimization.
You've got to look past your nose sometimes. Just because AMD can create an architecture does not mean they immediately know how to code properly for it. They are definitely working on it though.Edited by Mad Pistol - 10/22/12 at 7:15am
