LOL! Thanks for the giggle. "Clear winner"? All I see is a few FPS one side or the other, thats a far stretch from being able to say theres a clear winner. The graphs just show both camps level pegging eachother, although if we throw Skyrim into the mix with AA & AF, high resolution and lots of texture mods, the GTX670 and 680 soon run out of steam unless you happen to own one of the stupidly expensive 4GB 680s. All these new drivers have REALLY done is force nvidia to lower prices on the 660Ti and 670, which both have been overpriced since launch anyway.

Guys, I wanted to let you know that I won't be checking into this thread for a few days. Please keep providing feedback! What you've offered so far has been tremendously helpful.

Understood, we'll try to keep it clean and uncluttered best we can. If I run into issues with my own card I'll make sure to post.

Tell the team good luck with the idle clock issues since I know more than a few users are experiencing it.

Amazing two HD 7970s at default settings do it easily while two GTX 680s can't. Get lows as low as 30FPS with the GTX 680s.
Only thing is Vsync is ruined so get a lot of screen tearing even with all native DP connections. So might switch back to Nvidia and run three cards because although the performance of the AMD cards is awesome the screen tearing is more of an issue for me.

OH, THAT issue. Easy fix.

Turn off Vsync, and use MSI afterburner to throttle the FPS to 60-65, that should give the effect of Vsync, without the terrible input lag effects.

Nope.

Limiting franerate to 59FPS or 60FPS, neither help in any way. Each screen divides into 3 bars and screen tearing is awful. Only way it works is with RadeonPro forcing Vsync and triple buffering on and limiting the framerate in game and through afterburner to 60FPS and having Vsync and triplebuffering on ingame.

Even then it isn't perfect. Not to mention it shouldn't even be happening with three native display ports.

With my GTX 680s which I'm using now, just click Vsync and triplebuffering on in Nvidia control panel and problem solved.

Please fix this Vsync issue. Does not work with my eyefinity and I'd love to keep my HD 7970s but there is no point having them if I can't play from horrible screen tearing.

anyone with 7870 ... can u share what wonders this new drivers have brought to u as 7870 has gained the most from these
im also interested to see with these new drivers does 7870 become faster than 580GTX or 460GTX SLI???

With the 12.11b drivers HD 7870 is very close to GTX 580 and can be considered on par. GTX 460 SLI might be slightly faster than both these cards. But a single GPU is always better than multi gpu when performance is quite close. why are you asking ? do you plan to upgrade. given that your GTX 460s are at 860 Mhz the HD 7950 Boost would be faster than your GTX 460 SLI even at stock. Overclocked it will destroy the GTX 460 SLI.

580 would be a bit slower but, a 460 SLI would still be faster for 1080p, though some games and mods will struggle running on only 1GB.

My 7970 vs 460 SLI adds about 7-12 FPS to my avg @ 1080p but mine where @900core/2100 on mem, the difference only really becomes apparent @ 1440p where even if the card have enough juice the vram holds them back. *note BF3*

I would say a 460 SLI would be a bit faster than 7870 but like others have said with SLI profiles and other issues one card is always best. If I was upgrading from a 460 SLI I would NOT go for a 7870 and would choose a 7950 at least, otherwise it's a very expensive sidegrade. This was my conclusion after two months of deliberating and I went with a 7970 because I got it for an amazing price.
