SSD scores 5.9 in WEI..?

Thread Starter
Let me get this out. I honestly DO NOT care about WEI. My PC is fast, but this just caught my eye. I know it's a completely stupid thing and I honestly don't use it for showing how good my PC is...I am just curious

Basically, my SSD is rated at a 5.9. It is set as my primary hard disk, so says disk management. It also has a little Windows icon next to the drive icon. I have another drive, my Samsung F3, which holds all of my files including downloads, pictures, music, and documents. I also changed it so it has the cache, temporary files, and program files. This may be the reasoning, but I don't know.

AHCI is enabled.
Drivers are up to date.
It's in a SATA 6 slot.

I'm just curious. I honestly don't care about WEI..just tell me what's up!

Here is an AS SSD score. I know my firmware probably isn't up to date, but it was doing this before I updated to the one shown on my score. I don't think the firmware is the issue.

The issue is that there may not be enough contiguous space for the WEI test file to be created - so the disk test fails and bails out right away, scoring 5.9

Are you using your SSD as a boot drive+ specific programs and your other drive for data? I know that when I set up my SSD, I set the registry to automatically load software to my other harddrive. Once I set this up, my W.E.I score for the HD went from 7.6 to 5.9. If your SSD is set like mine, I would venture a guess that Windows is recognizing your data drive as your HD and giving you a score based upon it's performance.

From what I can tell your AS SSD score seems on pair with the M4 specs. Good Read but very low write. My old Agility 2 couldn't get a 7.9 but when I got my Vertex 4 running I finally got the 7.9

Have you installed the Intel chipset drivers?
How did you move your user folders?? Depending on the method it is possible that the systems considers your Samsung F3 as a system drive as well, bringing down the score.

I just right clicked on the folder and set the save location to the Samsung F3. So when I click on the C drive's (SSD) folder such as pictures...it goes to the Samsung F3. So I don't have like 2 different folders, you know? Can this be the issue?

Sounds like it, does the F3 show a little windows tile to the left on the explorer (like the one C shows)? Does the volume show a "system" label if you try to create a system image (i.e. using windows backup)? If so, then that's it. Barring a better opinion from an expert of course.

Hmmmm.. dang... did you run the assessment again after installing your ssd and updating the firmware, or are you just checking it? Try running it again.
