This makes literally no sense at all. They're basically saying "We have removed support for an app we don't make, for no reason at all". There's no logic behind it. It wasn't costing them money to maintain, it wasn't giving bad press, it wasn't a security vulnerability...

What's with Sony and gutting features that're already in place and working perfectly? This is quite frustrating. I've been folding on my PS3 24/7 since the day I got it and even shelled out for the extended warranty due to the extra strain on the hardware. Almost all of my OCN points are from the PS3

It may not have been efficient, but theres no reason to cut it. Even if they were going to cut it before the release of the PS4, the ps4 is still a ways off from being released. Though its not remotely efficient, but it still doesn't hurt to have ps3's chugging away at work units.
