Clearly, after all these years of having F@H on the PS3 to begin with, Stanford has decided to drop support. Why would Sony be the first to say,"No more Stanford! We're cutting you out of the PS3. We don't want you here, bug off."
The PS3 is nearly done with its life span, and ~now~ Sony is deciding to drop support for a completely functional software that has had no issues in the last ~5 years? It doesn't make sense for Sony to even care.
It would for Stanford if they got what they needed from the program, would like to move on, stop using whatever hardware they've been using to host any of the PS3 folding information, and actually do something with all the stuff they've collected all these years. It's research, it wasn't going to last forever.
