The lag is a known issue, but is due to windows scheduling. I doubt a new driver would fix that, Microsoft needs to catch up there.

Screen corruption has been greatly reduced over the last few drivers. Are you running any overclocks on your GPU? If so what software and how high?

Is this your same overclock as pre 12.11? If so you will need to find a new stable as 12.11 prevented me from keeping 1300/1700 on my 7970s. That is a well known change between drivers. Bf3 has weird issues and not all are drivers. The dice patches mess with stable gameplay periodically.

It has nothing to do with OC. It's not just one person who has this issue. There are a lot people with this flicker/corruptions in DX9 games. And Clockrate doesn'T change anything about it.
And to be honest, i don't ses ANY significant improvement on that issue with the latest drivers. It MAY got a bit better. But it did get better with nearly every driver release. The only difference this time AMD claims that it has been fixed - but it is not.
This issue is around since the release of those cards. I know some people claim they don'T have it. But after testing 3 cards by my own, and some more customer cards on customer pcs i can say that this issue is at least present on all the cards i tested. It's nearly a year now and AMD just started to fix this issue. I think it's understandable that some people lost their patience.

I know that this will start a circlejerking about how great other peoples GPU work. But that has nothing to do with the people who suffering this problem for months now. With the latest changelog AMD admits that there is smth wrong - i don't see the reason why people still don't want this to be true.

We're not saying it isn't true, we're saying we don't experience it. If we say this, then we provide you more information that allows you to isolate the issue. By isolating the issue you can provide feedback to AMD that actually fixes the problem, because just pointing a finger at them and whining isn't doing the trick if you've been trying it for a year and haven't gotten any results.

Helping the manufacturer troubleshoot their product is a fact of life for anyone that has ever come into contact with technology. Try imagining the list of problems that the first person to buy an automobile from a manufacturer had. wink.gif

Nvidia owners are in the same boat, they just have a different set of issues, so switching brands only works if those issues don't apply to you.

Hey guys. Was happily running the 12.10 set with no issues what so ever and decided to give 12.11 b11 a shot as the b8 was pretty bad in all my DX9 games. I have to say that my DX9 flickering is completely (or nearly at least) gone, but I am having the sleep of desth issues I had in and around the 12.7 driver set I think. It was prevalent for a while and I thought that as of 12.10 I was done with it.

What happens is that 1/3 times my monitor goes to sleep my whole computer becomes unresponsive and won't wake up the monitor (although the PC is still on). It used to be an AMD driver issue and was supposed to be fixed. mad.gif

I heard that they must have reverted some code because of the DX9 issues and am wondering if they maybe reverted back to the time of the dreaded monitor sleep of death...

Anyone? It is very annoying to say the least.

Far Cry 3 just crashes when loading with 3 gpus enabled for me. If I switch to two it seems to work fine.

Still getting artifacts in dx9 games,

Dude I'm in the same boat as you, I know how you feel - it sucks that some of my favorite games are DX9 only and I need to put up with it. I've found that hard restarting the game seems to help. Try not to alt tab/minimize.

But yeah, DOTA2/CSGO - Always get issues. But I can play Hitman/BF3/Farcry 3 for hours without one single problem.

So I just discovered an issue, and I'm not sure if it's specific to 12.11 or all AMD drivers..
Basically, I have 2 monitors - DVI and DisplayPort. If I turn the DP one on, my 7950 goes up to 500mhz core clock, full 3d memory clock, rather than the normal 300/150 idle. It runs a little warmer but I'm fine with that.
Now if I start a flash video playing on the second monitor, the core clock goes to 850 for several seconds at a time, which is fine, since flash is using hardware acceleration. However, memory clocks DROP to stock, and stay there. If I launch a game, core clock will NOT go up to full speed, and the memory clock will stay at stock.

A workaround is to disable hardware acceleration in flash. Still, it's pretty annoying and shouldn't be happening.
