weird that you haven't seen it zealot, what card are you using?

i get it randomly. usually i see it happen when i maximize/minimize and i'll have to restart the game.

csgo it will be a random flicker usually by the radar overlay.

I installed the betas last night aftera full clean removal of the old drivers and registry files and saw no increase in performance in FC3 or BF3. If anything I get bigger random dips in FPS in both games. I got the beta drivers off AMD's site and their were 2 versions for the 12.11. One that said it support Net 4 and one that does not. I used the one that support framework .net 4 since I have those running in my PC. SHould I not have used that version of the 12.11?

HD 7970 and CF. No problem at all. Early beta had some text problem but nothing now.

I could be wrong but AFAIK the driver requires Net 4.0 so one is in case you don't already have 4.0 the installer has the update packaged within. I already had it as well and installed the 12.11 without and had no issues. I am guessing the version you downloaded just scanned for net 4.0 found it and then skipped over the install. I also saw no difference on my 6970 between 12.10 and the beta either. Those gains are for 28nm cards.

Getting an external drive for Xmas so next time I reformat I can make my life easier.
You can just create a separate partition on the drive and use it to store the image of the partition windows is on.
The image just has to be saved on a seperate partiton than the one that is being imaged.
I use Acronis True Image.
As a matter of fact, make the second partition large enough to store all your pictures, mp3's or whatever you constantly update and don't want to lose when you restore your image.

Ok, enough about that.

I mean, sure we're grateful that AMD is working on fixes.
But it seems we're always waiting.
Our next fix wont be until at least after the holidays.
I mean we KNOW it's the holidays and most of us have time off to do some gaming, but instead we're waiting on patches again.
At least Far Cry 3 is playable with 12.11 beta11's and 12.11 CAP2's, although there are a few "flashes" here and there, especially when exiting the safe house in the very first town in the game.
And x-fire requires using a frame limiter to get smooth gameplay.
Isn't this supposed to be a AMD Gaming Evolved Title?
The Skyrim flickering doesn't make it unplayble either, but its annoying too.
And how long has this game been out now?
The 7xxx series lauched nearly a year ago and they still cannot seem to fix all the flickering issues.
The more performance the drivers give, the more flickering i get.
Now we're told ..... "As far as the flickering goes, I know people are looking for an update: We may have finalized another fix, but it still requires additional internal testing. Because it's so close to Christmas, I really cannot even fathom an ETA. Schedules for everyone at work are wacky right now".
While i appreciate his honesty, it doesn't help.
I'd love to return my two Sapphire 7950's.
But its not Neweggs fault, and its not Sapphires fault.
The cards are excellent and there is nothing wrong with them.
Its the drivers that are still broken, even a year after launch.

Stick in there man! I am. I returned 2 cards before I realized it was just a driver problem. My favorite games are running in dx9, OR are just newer games like you said that have issues. I'm sure they're working hard on a good update for us. I hope it's soon.
